The World Hospice & Palliative Care Day
Saturday, 7 October 2006, 10am Guest of Honour - Mr Heng Chee How, Minister of State for Health World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD) is a unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world. The theme this year is “Access to Care for All” – highlighting that everyone should know and have access to quality end of life care. The Day will be launched with a live release of butterflies, signifying the fragility and beauty of life. Programme 10.00 am Arrival of Guests 10.30 am Arrival of Guest of Honour Welcome address by Dr. Seet Ai Mee Chairman, Singapore Hospice Council Speech by Guest of Honour 11.00 am Launch of the World Hospice & Palliative Care Day & Butterfly Release Butterfly painting by guests and Mr Ong Kim Seng Tour of Photographic Exhibition, “Adding Life to Days” 11.30 am Performance and activities Tea reception 1.00 pm End of programme The World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is part of the Singapore Hospice Council public awareness campaign championed by The Lien Foundation. |
